  • Day 1: Reception and transfer to your Hotel in Cusco ... Welcome.
  • Day 2: Sacred Valley of The Incas, Pisac Ruins & Market, Ollantaytambo, Yucay and Chincheros.
  • Day 3: Walking the famous Inca Trail, transfer to Km 82, starting point of your Trek.
  • Day 4: Climbing to 4,200 meters Dead Woman Pass,Pacaymayu, Runkurakay,Chakicocha.
  • Day 5: Sayaqmarca, Phuyupatamarka, Wiñaywayna and Intipata. (Camping).
  • Day 6: Sunrise at Machupicchu, guided tour and time to explore. Return to Cusco.
  • Day 7: Flight to Puerto Maldonado. Corto Maltes Lodge.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Original passport and (Student card if applicable)
  • A daypack (SAS provide a duffle bag for personal porter)
  • Warm sleeping bag Minus 8ºC
  • Lighter style trekking boots with good ankle support
  • Trekking poles: metal tips are not allowed on the trail
  • Warm clothes,layers for variable temperature especially at night
  • Thermal underwear can be worn in the sleeping bag or in cold conditions
  • Gloves or mittens, scarf , wool socks, woolen hat for cold nights
  • T-shirts and trekking pants that zipoff to short pants for comfort
  • Flash light, head torch and extra batteries
  • Camera and extra batteries
  • Binoculars
  • Wear a hat with a broad visor to keep the sun off your face
  • Sunscreen, and sunglasses
  • Personal medical kit, insect repellent
  • Rain Gear: a good rain jacket, rain poncho

  • If you don`t have sleeping bags, rain ponchos, trekking poles, water bottle, etc you can rent/buy them from SAS Travel at the office at your check-in 2 days before the trek departure.
  • For the Jungle :
  • A small rucksack
  • Lightweight, tightweave long cotton pants & long -sleaved cotton shirts
  • A fleece and a windbreaker are advisable for cool evenings
  • Light raingear (poncho) for sudden downpours
  • Sneakers or other low heeled walking shoes are essential
  • Sunhat / glasses, sunscreen
  • Insect repellent is a must, preferably with deet
  • A water bottle
  • Good binoculars and a flashlight or headlight
  • Personal gear, toiletries, cameras, 400 exp film
  • Your passport, yellow fever certificate and extra money in plastic bags.
  • If you have extra large sized feet we may not be able to find rubber boots in your size for the muddy trails as they are generally not available in Peru….so please bring old shoes for the muddy trails.
